Real Louisiana cooking — past the Square, down 183 to Cedar Park.
The Georgetown Square has its rotation — steaks, Tex-Mex, the usual brewpub. For something different, Mouton's is about 25 minutes south on 183: Cajun and Creole the way it's actually done in Louisiana, served in a proper bistro room. Chef Ben Mouton trained in New Orleans and has been here in Cedar Park since 2012.
Worth the drive for a real plate of jambalaya, a slow Sunday brunch with live jazz, or a Saturday crawfish boil on the patio. Easier than fighting I-35 down to Austin, and the bar pours late.
From the Square or Wolf Ranch: 183 south straight down — exit Lakeline. We're at 1821 S Lakeline Blvd, just south of 1431. ~25 minutes.
From Sun City or Berry Creek: I-35 south to 1431 west, then south on Lakeline — about 30 minutes.
From east Georgetown: SH-130 south, exit 1431, west to Lakeline — about 30 minutes.
