Take SH-45 west — 25 minutes to a Louisiana kitchen.
Pflugerville sits on the wrong side of I-35 for most of the city's good Cajun spots — and most of the chains nearby aren't really cooking the food. Mouton's is a 25-minute straight shot west on SH-45, then a hop down 183. Chef Ben Mouton is from South Louisiana and has been simmering gumbo and rolling boudin in Cedar Park since 2012.
Easier than fighting your way down to South Austin for the same dish. Faster than driving into Houston when the craving hits. And the bar pours late, so a Pflugerville-to-Cedar-Park weeknight dinner doesn't have to be rushed.
From downtown Pflugerville or Stone Hill: SH-45 west all the way across, exit Lakeline. We're at 1821 S Lakeline Blvd, just south of 1431. ~25 minutes off-peak.
From Wells Branch or north Pflugerville: 1825 to 183, then north — about 25 minutes.
From Falcon Pointe or Blackhawk: SH-130 to SH-45, then west — 25–30 minutes.
