Real gumbo, real boudin, real Creole — west across 1431.
If you live in Round Rock and you've been hunting for honest Cajun food, the chain options on I-35 don't really do the trick. Mouton's is a 15-minute hop west on 1431 — past La Frontera, past the lake, into Cedar Park. Chef Ben Mouton has been cooking the food he grew up on in South Louisiana here since 2012.
The gumbo gets a dark roux. The jambalaya is built on the trinity. The boudin is rolled in-house. It's the kind of food Round Rock asks for — and rarely finds — without going all the way into Austin.
From downtown Round Rock or the outlets: take 1431 (Whitestone Blvd) west all the way to Lakeline — about 15 minutes. We're at 1821 S Lakeline Blvd, just south of 1431.
From La Frontera or I-35: head west on 1431, past 183 — same drive, ~12–15 minutes.
From Brushy Creek: 620 west to Lakeline, then north — about 10 minutes.
Free parking. Open daily from 8 AM. The bar pours late Wednesday through Saturday — easy mid-week dinner without committing to the full I-35 slog into Austin.
The plates Round Rock regulars come back for.
The trinity, andouille sausage, and a crawfish étouffée that goes deep. Order both and split.
Lunch territory. Fried shrimp po-boys, hand-rolled boudin balls — quick midweek run.
Patio crawfish and shrimp boils through the season. Bring the table; we'll bring the trays.
